Distance (It's Okay)

No sound,
Looking around;
So silent,
So stagnant...

Distant -- from my sight,
Existing deep inside;
Sketches in black and white,
They whisper then hide.

I wonder,
And I ponder;
Whenever,
And wherever.

What I could listen,
Moments I could earn;
If I am there,
Breathing their air.

Bend me the light,
Let me have you in sight;
Take me for a flight,
To get there -- no matter day or night.

Or let me hold,
And take away the cold;
From the world in my palms,
Or embraced in my arms.

But it's okay,
For there's always a way;
To put distance away,
Out of our way.

But it's okay,
For you can still hear words I say;
Rewind memories and thoughts of yesterday,
Even see you without delay.

And it's okay,
Because within ourselves our bonds will stay;
Through times of hardship and of play,
Though there's distance -- it's still okay.

Till we meet one day,
Look forward from today;
Despite the distance -- day by day,
Stay together -- then it's okay...

Before you're away from home...

Well, this is gonna be my first post which isn't a poem or video. I was a little busy cleaning and packing earlier today and actually made a list of things my housemates and I brought down to Subang Jaya when I first shifted here. Things that I thought those of you who are leaving home would wanna consider bringing. Right, you can say it,"I love you, Sebastian!", " You saved my life!", etc...Hope this will enlighten you my dear friend! If there's anything that you have in mind to add to my list, do tell me so I can update it. And, you're welcome...

* For every category of things to bring, think of what you need and want to do while there, places you'll need or want to go, the 5W and 1H thing, u know...

For your accommodation & washroom
- Bed sets and sheets( at least two sets of sheets for convenience) clothes rack, pegs, hangar( for both dry hanging and in your cupboard), pieces of cardboard or paper to layer your drawers or cupboard( just in case), insect repellants(especially for cockroaches), air freshener?, floor mat, plastic bags(for garbage bin, wastepaper basket, clothes, books, etc...), toiletries( just look at what u have in ur toilet now? toilet rolls, towel, cotton buds?, hair gel?, mini basket for your own shampoo, toothbrush and stuff because you're probably sharing the toilet with someone else...so u can only bring it in when u shower, otherwise there's a possibility that your things become communal, swt...unless u don't mind..., and etc...u know...), rags, pail/ bucket and old cloths(for cleaning time to time), basket for your dirty clothes, medicine and supplements?, calender, torchlight?, alarm clock, hooks( to temporarily hang your clothes), laptop( if you have which is helpful), printer?, all your electronical devices' CHARGERS( ppl tend to forget this), snacks, instant noodles and drink packets or tins (milo, milk, cereal, etc...), your bedroom set( maybe at least 2 sets of casings for convenience) and LASTLY maybe something from home to ease your homesickness at the beginning and from time to time( like family photo, ur teddy bear to hug? lol...)

For kitchen, laundry area, the rest of your home unit
- Kettle, Induction cooker, multipurpose cooker, rice cooker, toaster?(handy for a quick morning breakfast unless you wanna feed on cereal 24/7? your choice...), utensils, plate, bowl, cup, clothes iron n the board, detergent or washing powder and brushes( for shoes also).

All the "on and with you s"
- U should know things like wallet, hp, watch, clothes, towels, socks, shoes...etc
- U might forget s like umbrella, bag for classes, water bottles, stationaries, teeth retainers n contact lenses( if you do have), earphones/headphones (for use in library or at home when its late) and also maybe ear plugs( to aid you when you wanna sleep or study and its noisy).

Personal advices
- You might wanna mark your underwear, etc...so it doesn't get mixed up with others especially after drying.
- Remember to bring outfits including socks ,ties, belts, shoes for different occasions such as formal wear, swimming( if u wanna?), sweater or jacket( you never know how cold certain classes may be), and other occasions.
- Do consider bringing materials for your hobby and leisure( badminton racquets n shuttles, football?, guitar, mp3 player, etc....) or you probably will bring it the next round.
- Bring rubberbands, tapes, glue and scissors, can be really handy for quick repairs and organize things like wires?, tie food plastic bags and etc...
- After you receive the keys to your room, you might wanna consider duplicating them and giving them to someone trustworthy or hide it somewhere other than your room( so that if you accidentally lock your room with your keys inside, you have a solution my fren, don't laugh, it happens).
- Consider bringing another lock for your room cupboard( break-ins actually happen more often than you think, and your room door is not some high-tech security-intelligent barrier so having an extra lock helps at least by being another protection for valuables).
- For guys and girls also, you may want to carry a pepper spray for security, its not only for girls, seriously...very useful for the tactic " hit and run".
- Maybe you want to bring cameras of any kind...
- Don't sweat it, even if you forget, you can always buy them...except for those you can't like maybe your fees bill and other official things you need to even register for your college or school....good luck!

And when you're there, open up and be involved, you'll do fine....feeling at home in no time. Take care and all the best then, pal...
